Welcome to Kettle Diary. I'm kettle_corin. Home is a cold house with a warm kitchen, and most of these posts start there.

Gus is my grinder, and turns up here a lot. It began eight years ago with an old coffee importer I met showed me the basics.

The posts are mostly for me, but you're welcome to read along. I write things down here so I stop making the same mistakes, which works about half the time.

The short story is a bad year that needed something slow in it, about seven years ago. I've been dialling in espresso for six years now; it started with a workshop I signed up for on a whim.
